VEM redefines efficiency – IE7 is here!
The world’s first IE7 motor series is here!
VEM’s product development has once again pushed the boundaries by launching the world’s first motor series with IE7 efficiency class. The efficiency exceeds 100 %, and demand is already booming.

Clearly, this is an April Fool’s joke – IE7 motors with over 100% efficiency defy the laws of physics! Currently, the most energy-efficient solutions on the market are IE5 SynRM (Synchronous Reluctance) motors, which can reach efficiencies close to 98%.
Achieving over 100% efficiency would mean converting all the input electrical energy into mechanical energy with absolutely no losses – practically impossible, as core losses, copper losses, and bearing friction cannot be entirely eliminated. Nevertheless, development continues, and new materials and designs are constantly being explored to further reduce losses and improve efficiency.
