Sweden’s ELR Congress “Lindarträff” on Åland Islands
Ålands Elektrolindning AB arranged this year the annual ELR Congress Lindarträff 2018 on Åland Islands from Thursday 4/10 to Sunday 7/10 2018.
ELR, Elektromekaniska Lindarverkstädernas Riksförbund, is an industry federation consisting of Electromechanical Workshops and Manufacturers of Electromechanical Products in Sweden.
Currently, 85 winding workshops from Ystad in the south to Kiruna in the north are ELR members.
The ELR’s workshops can help with service and winding of electric motors as well as sales of electric motors, pumps, hand tools, welders, power stations, high pressure washers, welders, power plants, etc. Many have a large sort of spare parts at home.
Lindarträff included a two-day training of DC operation and repair and a one-day training on current regulations for installation, preventive maintenance and repair of Ex engines in accordance with the directives and standards (IEC 60079 Series) from IECEx.
The EX-course was aimed at both end-users and maintenance staff who handle Ex-engines. It was held by EASA’s IECEx Certified Educator John Allen. John Allen is also a representative of the service agencies of the International Committee, which writes and updates the standards that apply to the manufacture, installation and maintenance of Ex engines.
VEM motors Finland’s Keijo Sumusalo was invited to the Lindarträff fair by the initiative of VEM’s Swedish dealers and workshops. “We are happy to show out products to the cream of Swedish electromechanical professionals. Our stock in Finland can very often offer fast deliveries of a variety of motor types, and as VEM is a high-quality product, the end users are satisfied with it.”
Keijo Sumusalo, Sales Manager for the Swedish aftermarket, showed today’s VEM motor range using the simple VEMeKAT program. Surprise for many participants was that VEM still manufactures the old K21R series of motors in its full scale. One can still sell the same “small” cast iron motor, which the end customer bought in the 70-80s.
