COMPUTER&AUTOMATION VOTES COMBIVERT F6 AND S6 INTO THE TOP 3
The COMBIVERT F6 Drive Controllers and Servo Drives S6 with integrated safety functions have been chosen as the products of the year 2023 in the readers’ choice of the magazine “Computer&Automation”. In the category drive technology the inverters from KEB are among the top 3 products. The award-winning devices are certified, among other things, in the APPLICATION variant for the PROFIsafe fieldbus protocol and enable safe communication.
“We are very pleased about the award, which is the result of strong cooperation within the various teams,” says Tobias Wenneker, Product Manager Drives at KEB. “The fact that the professional audience voted for our Drives motivates us and reflects the high value that safety has in machine and plant engineering.”
The award-winning F6 and S6 Drives feature safety functions directly in the drive. The integration of PROFIsafe in the inverters creates the conditions for consistent and safe communication. In addition, the commissioning of machines and systems is noticeably simplified and the wiring effort is reduced. In the device version, Ethernet-based bus systems can be switched over via software, thus enabling a flexible fieldbus connection to the higher-level control system. The device series cover a wide power range from 0.75 kW to 450 kW and can be used for the operation of different motor technologies.
There are already plans for the trophy that was handed over, Wenneker reveals: “One idea is to make the trophy a ‘challenge cup’. After all, every colleague involved should hold this award in their hand at some point.”
